Top Tips for Designing Effective International Email Templates

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if you could send multiple personalized emails without creating them one by one?

With the right international email templates, you can achieve this feat within a click of a few buttons.

Whether you’re looking to create a newsletter, sales promotion, order receipt, or welcome email, it’s important to keep your emails as interactive and readable as possible.

Indeed, this is probably the only secret sauce for improving your click-through rates.

This email marketing guide shares six useful tips on designing an engaging email template that yields tremendous results.

Take a look!

Create a Compelling Subject Line

Did you know that 80% of users open emails only if they see a compelling, engaging, and relevant subject line?

A subject line offers you the best opportunity to highlight what your email copy is all about; it’s important to keep it straightforward and not misleading.

A well-crafted subject line shouldn’t contain unnecessary caps or punctuation. The overuse of such characters tends to trigger the usually overzealous email spam filters.

Also, try to keep the line short, ideally in the range of 40-50 characters.

Use the Preheader Wisely

A preheader is the summary text that appears underneath the subject line when the email is viewed in the inbox. It adds value to the subject line and can help boost your open rate.

Use it wisely to convince your subscribers that the email is worth their attention, and let it be a key aspect for your international email templates

Both the subject line and the preheader have the common purpose of creating interest and encouraging readers to open an email. As such, try to keep both captivating, short, and sweet.

It’s worth mentioning that different email providers have varying preheader limits, but the standard range lies between 40 and 130 characters.

Customization Is Key

In case you haven’t yet noticed, using just the subscriber’s name in marketing emails is slowly losing its appeal.

To make your international email templates stand out from the crowds, try researching your email recipients more to find out other data that can add value to your message.

Such information as the last purchase, date of birth, or company name can help to customize your messaging.

The idea here is to craft each email in an exclusive rather than inclusive approach. However, when digging into your subscribers’ data, be careful not to invade their privacy.

Spice Things up With Dynamism

If you’re looking to take email customization to a higher level, consider spicing it up with dynamic content. This will add more relevance to your campaigns and appeal to more subscribers.

For example, if you’re writing a sale promotion email, you can create dynamism by showing men’s shoes to the males and women’s shoes to the females.

That will relay a message to the subscribers that you know and value them.

Mobile Optimization Is Smart

Smartphones are the new norm, and it would be absurd to ignore that most of your subscribers use them when checking your emails.

A recent study found that 68% of email logins occurred through mobile, and this figure keeps growing.

So, the big question is: how do you optimize your international email templates for mobile? Here are six tips you can implement now:

• Use a short and sweet preheader text
• Keep the subject line short
• The body copy shouldn’t be too wordy
• Create a clear and easy-to-click CTA button
• Use the right-sized images if necessary (they shouldn’t appear too tiny on a cell phone)
• The body copy size should be around 16px

The Perfect CTA Buttons

You have done everything to make your message appealing and formatted it correctly. Is that all?

Definitely not!

You need to use your international email templates to move your readers through the sales funnels, and calls-to-action are your best bet here.

Your CTA buttons should be specific, well-sized, and lean towards the benefits. Below are four key aspects you need to focus on when crafting an effective CTA button:

Color

The button’s color should match that of your brand and contrast the background color.

Size

Aim for bigger buttons as they are easy to click on mobile (50px should be enough).

Frequency

The number of CTA buttons in an email depends on the number of products you’re promoting.

For instance, retailers dealing with multiple products will have more buttons than single-line manufacturers.

Language

Remember, you include CTA buttons to encourage the readers to take action. Using an active and confident voice is key to enhancing conversion.

Have Marketing Emails Professionally Translated

As an international business with customers around the globe, you should be aware of the power of providing content in multiple languages.

Customers are more likely to engage with emails in their native language, and it’s key to personalization.

Make sure to use a professional translation service, as clunky wording or, even worse, mistakes could have a negative effect on your company’s image.

Bonus Tip

Before sending any emails to your subscribers, be sure to pass it through grammar and editing tools like Grammarly or Ginger.

They will help you catch careless grammatical errors and make your emails a lot punchier and more engaging.

Conclusion

Designing engaging international email templates that yield results shouldn’t be a daunting task after all.

The bottom line is to write compelling subject lines and preheaders, create customized and dynamic content, optimize for mobile, and include effective CTA buttons.
