SRT is the universal subtitle format for video platforms, e-learning systems, and broadcast workflows.
A subtitle translation is not a transcript translation. Each subtitle segment must be readable within the on-screen duration of the corresponding dialog. Lines that are too long force viewers to read faster than is comfortable. Lines that are broken at the wrong point disrupt comprehension. SRT translation requires subtitlers who understand both the source language and the conventions of subtitle writing in the target language.
All timecode values (start time, end time) are preserved exactly. The translated SRT file matches the audio and video timeline of your source video.
Subtitle line lengths and reading speeds are checked against broadcast and platform standards (typically 17 to 21 characters per second) and adjusted where necessary.
Subtitle text is broken at natural syntactic boundaries, avoiding splits that separate subjects from verbs or adjectives from nouns.
Delivered SRT files are tested for compatibility with YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, LMS platforms, and professional video editing applications.

“I recently used a translation agency in France to translate several administrative and commercial documents into Spanish. The service I received was absolutely exceptional. Not only were the translations accurate and professional, but the team was also very responsive and understanding of my specific needs. BeTranslated truly took the time to understand my context, and the translations perfectly reflected this understanding. I highly recommend their services to anyone needing high-quality translations, and I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.”

Everything you need to know about translating SRT Subtitles files.
Yes. If you have a video or audio file but no source SRT, we can transcribe and subtitle the content in the source language first, then translate the SRT into the target languages. Transcription and subtitling are quoted separately from translation. Please provide the source language and target language(s) when requesting a quote.
Yes. WebVTT (.vtt), SubStation Alpha (.ass/.ssa), and YouTube SBV format can all be processed. We convert between formats as needed. For broadcast projects requiring EBU STL or TTML, please mention this when submitting.
Speaker labels and on-screen text identifiers that appear in the SRT source (such as [NARRATOR] or (applause)) are translated or adapted as appropriate for the target language. We follow the convention used in the source SRT consistently throughout the translated file.
Send us your SRT Subtitles file and we will quote as quickly as possible. Format preserved, meaning accurate, delivered on time.
