Yes. We assign translators based on the jurisdiction. Dutch legal terminology for the Netherlands differs from Belgian legal conventions, and we handle both correctly.
Yes. We regularly produce translations of Dutch legal documents for ICC, NAI, and other international arbitration proceedings.
We can coordinate notarization of certified translations if required by the receiving institution. Contact us with your specific requirements and we will advise on the process.
Yes. The Netherlands follows Dutch civil code (Burgerlijk Wetboek) with its own procedural vocabulary; Belgian law applies Belgian civil and commercial law with some French-influenced legal concepts surviving in Flemish legal drafting. A Dutch vennootschap onder firma reads differently from a Belgian naamloze vennootschap in procedural context. We assign translators by destination jurisdiction and apply the correct statutory vocabulary and notarial conventions for each country.
A beedigde vertaler (sworn translator) is a translator registered with the Rbtv (Register beedigde tolken en vertalers) in the Netherlands. Their sworn certification gives translations legal standing before Dutch courts, the Belastingdienst (tax authority), and most Dutch government bodies. For Belgium, equivalent sworn status is granted through the Belgisch Staatsblad appointment. We confirm whether the receiving authority requires sworn certification or a standard Certificate of Accuracy and deliver the correct format.
