RSI

Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI)

RSI delivers conference-grade simultaneous interpretation over the internet. Attendees join a language channel from any browser or mobile device and hear the interpreter in real time while the speaker continues without pause. No physical booths at the venue, no interpreter travel costs, and no geographic restrictions on which languages you can offer.

BeTranslated supports RSI on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and dedicated RSI platforms. Two interpreters are assigned to every session exceeding 30 minutes, in line with AIIC professional standards, to maintain quality over long events.

VRI

Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

VRI connects the interpreter and all parties via a secure video call. Unlike over-the-phone interpreting, VRI preserves visual cues, facial expressions, and body language, which are significant in medical, legal, and sensitive settings where non-verbal communication affects meaning and accuracy. Sessions are often booked alongside medical translation of supporting records.

Sessions run on any standard video platform including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex, as well as dedicated healthcare and legal VRI platforms. BeTranslated provides VRI interpreters for consecutive and liaison formats in all language pairs, with specialist availability for legal translation matters and immigration contexts.

OPI

Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI)

OPI provides on-demand telephone interpretation with no scheduling lead time. The interpreter joins a conference call within minutes of the request, requiring no equipment beyond a telephone or VOIP line. This immediacy makes OPI the primary choice for urgent and emergency situations.

BeTranslated OPI is available for core language pairs including Arabic, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Russian, Polish, and Urdu. Less common languages are available on a scheduled basis. Medical, legal, and utility providers use OPI as part of broader interpreting services to cover unplanned language access needs across their operations.

The interpreter joins your platform or call at the agreed time. For RSI, a technical check is completed before the session goes live.

Remote Interpretation Rates

Remote interpretation is generally more cost-effective than on-site formats because it eliminates interpreter travel and equipment shipping. Rates below are indicative starting points.

VRI

Urgent Booking

+25% surcharge
