Photoshop text layers are distinct from the pixel-based artwork around them, making them editable without touching image data. BeTranslated works directly with text layers in PSD files, translating each layer and adjusting type size, tracking, and leading as needed to maintain the visual balance of the original composition.
Layer organization is preserved during translation. Grouped layers, adjustment layers, and smart objects remain in place. Clipping masks and layer effects applied to text layers are retained after translation. For files where text is merged into a flattened layer, we recreate the text elements as live layers to enable accurate translation and future editability.
Translation is performed on text layers only. Pixel layers, adjustment layers, smart objects, and blend modes are completely untouched.
For flattened or merged text, we recreate live text layers using matching fonts, sizes, and effects so the translation is fully editable and visually accurate.
Web banners, social media ads, and email header images with multiple text layers are translated with attention to character counts and display readability across devices.
Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, Thai, and CJK scripts are supported. Photoshop's Middle Eastern and World-Ready Composer settings are applied for correct text direction and shaping.

For translation and DTP work, the native PSD file with live text layers is required. JPEG and PNG files are flattened rasters where text cannot be separated from the image. If you no longer have the PSD source, we can recreate the text elements from the flat image, but this requires additional design time.
Yes. Complex PSD files with dozens or hundreds of layers are handled routinely in our DTP workflow. We work from a layer inventory, translating all identified text layers in a single pass for consistency.
Smart Objects that contain text can be opened and translated at the smart object level. We update the Smart Object content in the source PSD and verify that the result renders correctly before delivery.
