Houston is widely regarded as the energy capital of the world and ranks among the most ethnically diverse major US cities, with residents speaking well over a hundred languages. ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, BP America, and dozens of other energy majors and national-oil-company partners maintain operations in and around the Energy Corridor, generating constant demand for interpreting in technical, legal, and contractual settings, from drilling-contract and joint-venture talks to HSE training. The Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, treats patients from around the globe and needs interpreters across a wider range of languages than almost any other hospital system in the country, while Harris County District Court and the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas handle high-volume multilingual proceedings. The Port of Houston, a leading US port by foreign waterborne tonnage, supports international trade and customs negotiations, the George R. Brown Convention Center and NRG Park host the Offshore Technology Conference and CERAWeek, and the NASA Johnson Space Center drives international aerospace coordination across the Clear Lake corridor.
BeTranslated provides simultaneous interpreting in ISO-compliant booths for energy summits and congresses, consecutive interpreting for court proceedings, depositions, and contract negotiations, whispered (chuchotage) interpreting for boardroom and one-to-one settings, liaison interpreting for plant and port site visits, and escort interpreting for delegations. For hybrid and online programs we run remote simultaneous interpreting and video remote interpreting on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex. Spanish is the most frequently requested pair given Houston's large Hispanic population, with Vietnamese a priority language reflecting the city's large Vietnamese community, and Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Hindi, Tagalog, Korean, and Persian in consistent demand for energy, medical, and legal work. We field Texas Licensed Court Interpreters for Harris County and Southern District of Texas assignments.
